Super excited for GT7 this Friday. Its gonna be my first GT game so was just wondering how people would say it compares to a sim like Assetto Corsa. I've been playing Assetto for a couple months now and have been enjoying it loads for sure! AC has great physics but little else. It’s a good sim not a good game. GT7 has good physics but loads more.
The critics weighed in at 77% with the fans at 7.1. So, still pretty good, but not the lofty heights of AC. The critics were more impressed with the PS4 and Xbox One versions than the original AC though. For PlayStation 4, ACC scored 75%, with Xbox One scoring 71%. The fans though aren't impressed anywhere near as much.
Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione share the same routes in terms of the physics engine. They both have a range of similar features when comparing them on the surface level. The complexity in both is class-leading and are more than sufficient to feel as if you are driving a real car on a real track. The proposition has been made in sim racing many times: Assetto Corsa is better than Assetto Corsa Competizione. But is it really, and by what metrics? We ta The car handling in Assetto Corsa is known to be very very hard to adapt to. For us, we would call it very realistic rather than very hard. Yes, the only reason why it is relatively harder to handle a car in Assetto Corsa is because of how realistic it is compared to driving a car in Forza Horizon 5, Project Cars 3 and Nascar Heat 5. In Assetto Corsa Competizione, all cars run positive rear toe or what’s called toe-in. Rear toe essentially affects how quickly the car rotates during a corner. Greater rear toe will cause the loaded outside tyre entering a corner to start with a slight slip angle, meaning cornering forces are going to build up much faster. The pixel crawling of the shadows in front of you on the tarmac were the most annoying. There's also "Cable Antialiasing" now. Here are the settings: CSP Version: 0.1.71 (0.1.72 has new interior reflections and I really don't like that look!) Extra FX: active (not by default) -> Temporal anti-aliasing: active.
2nd: Make sure you have a wheel and a shifter for it, this game for controller is really bad and almost unplayable. Play a lot of both, and as others have said GT7 is prettier and typically more “fun”, but it is incredibly forgiving compared to a real sim. Still better than Forza, but not the real deal. ACC is an excellent true to life sim, and really tests your skills in the car. It is pretty in depth in every single way. Both are good at what they do. .
